The 11th Hurungwe Arts Festival looks towards a new decade of creative expression, living heritage and regional connection. Its theme: “Roots to the World: Celebrating a Decade, Shaping the Next Decade.”

Founded as a community showcase in 2014, HAF connects creative expression with the heritage and people of Hurungwe. The 11th edition is designed to strengthen that platform through cultural learning, regional exchange and new opportunities for artists.
Planned experiences include a schools visual and performing arts showcase, the sacred Bira kwaMambo Chanetsa, a regional main stage, and cultural dialogue and tourism. Masterclasses, heritage documentation and market connections are part of the proposed direction for the next decade.

Apply, review, then make it official.
Apply as a performer or exhibitor. Sponsors and partners use a separate partnership call. Track your submission privately while the organisers review it. Approval activates your category portal account and badge. Read your individual agreement, accept its terms and add your digital signature. The agreement remains pending until the organiser countersigns.
Your application information stays private.
Contact details, cast members’ identification information and signatures are used for application review and participation arrangements. They do not appear in the public artist directory. Only the artist profile details approved for publication are displayed publicly after onboarding.

Understand the agreement before signing.
The participation terms are shown before you sign. Review the services, schedule and support arrangements carefully. You must confirm that you have read and accepted the agreement, and that you have authority to sign for the artist, group or organisation. Keep a copy of the completed agreement from your portal.

The 11th edition is planned for Karoi, Zimbabwe, under the theme “Roots to the World: Celebrating a Decade, Shaping the Next Decade” — Kubva pa Midzi kuenda Pasirese. The concept note outlines activities for 13–15 August. Final timings and details for 16 August will be confirmed. The optional Kariba cultural excursion is self-paying.
