About the artist.
Shafiq Kalumo Phiri is a Malawian performing artist, writer, director, broadcaster and arts developer, and the founder of Linga Creatives. His work connects theatre, creative education and community development. He took part in Hurungwe Arts Festival’s 2026 cultural-preservation dialogue and regional exchange, alongside fellow creatives from Malawi, Zimbabwe and Zambia.
